Cooking with Seaweed: Chicken Spinach Quiche Crust-less my family loves it and I love that it is a great make ahead meal. My kids love it as well. This a great pack in the nutritional meal. I go an extra step and add a super food : seaweed. I know you are like ewe.. but you can tasted it and it ads so much to your daily needs. Dr. Oz talked about how it is an seaweed food. As a family we have enjoyed it for years. It has a sea smell to it when eated plain but once placed in other foods, you will never know, You can find it in Asia Markets, some grocery store and Trader Joes. Mixing it in with spinach is a great way to introduce seaweed into your diet. You can’t taste the seaweed but it pack the nutritional punch.
I found this from Best Healthy living mag … Seaweed packs super-high amounts of calcium—higher than broccoli—and in terms of protein, it’s almost as rich as legumes. There’s also a good amount of vitamins B-12 and A and it’s a great source of fibre. But not just any old fibre. Seaweed is mostly soluble fibre, the kind that turns into a gel, slowing down the digestive process, thus inhibiting the absorption of sugars and cholesterol.

The quiche looks fantastic – I have never cooked with seaweed…interesting!
It is so simple you just add it in. The smell might put you off at 1st but you cant taste it when cooked. Give it a try and let me know how you like it.
I have never cooked with seaweed. Is seaweed what they use in wonton soup?
Mmm, I love a good quiche! I didn’t realize there was no flour in it, just need to replace the dairy – very cool! This is a keeper 🙂
Gina your family will love it with out the bread crumbs ..just make sure you use a non stick cooking spray.
What an interesting way to cook with seaweed!
Interesting idea! I haven’t found a love for seaweed yet (I can’t even eat sushi) but my husband loves it so this would be a great recipe for him. Though if you can’t taste it in the casserole, I might like it too, so I’ll give it a try!
It is so high in vitamins and iron hiding it in other food is a great way to get the power punch of seaweed.
My husband loves seaweed, but it scares me! I order sushi with carrot wrapping instead of seaweed!
My husband loves seaweed, but it scares me! I even order my sushi with carrot wrapping instead of seaweed. Maybe in the quiche with the spinach it would be disguised for me!

I can’t wait to try this! I love sneaking extra nutrients and veggies into meals, because without a sneak attack, my family is not to keen on trying them. This sounds delish!
You have so many delicious meals planned.
My husband keeps telling me how good seaweed is. Does sound good!
