Mac and Cheese Toppers : I love mac and cheese and put something special on top. Yummy My husband got a night with out the kids so I made a special dinner with a treat of individual Mac and Cheese sides. I love this I made it in about 30 minutes and it was an easy side. That was portion controlled and yummy
Homemade Mac and Cheese with Onion toppers
Makes 4
- 1/2 lb of pasta (precooked and drained)
- 1 cup of milk
- 8oz block of Velveeta cheese or your favorite cheese
- 3 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoon of flour
- salt pepper
- Hormel Apple-wood Bacon Bits
- Frenches Fried Onions
- Shredded cheese
- Make your rue add the butter and flour to bottom of pot creating an equal amount of both keep moving till it becomes a paste and move till it get dark nutty color.
- Add slight warm milk, no ice cold, stir into the rue slowly allowing the sauce to thicken
- Add the Velveeta of your favorite cheese still till smooth
- Add noodles and mix cheese
- Put mac and cheese in ramekins
- Top with onions bacon and cheese cook for 15-20 minutes 375.
