Menu Planning Monday
Menu Planing This week is a beautiful weather. It makes me want to plant and grow veggies. We went to my husbands family farm this weekend. As we drove home we stopped by a plant nursery purchased veggies, a well established beef steak tomato plant. I also purchased 4 different peppers red, green, yellow, and purple. The finally veggies is zucchini which I will really enjoy during the summer, my kids really like roasted zucchini almost like a chip.
I am really looking forward of becoming one with my food, since I love to cook. I have great plans to do it every year, then vacation happens and they all die. So this year we are not going away so I am hopping I can keep my crop going. On Pinterest I have found some great ideas for simple irrigation methods. Also I have been reading about dirty and how to have great healthy rich soil. The concept of growing your own veggies seems like a great idea.. but it also seems like it can be expensive, if you don’t figure out some great DIY methods. Check out on my pin board some great ideas.

Protect the Bees with Whole Foods A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to learn about bees and the affect on our food with Whole Foods share the buzz. I know that you have heard that honey bees are not doing well, that they are threaten by the environment and pesticides. Yes they are but do you know that you can help them recover.
Easy ways to help the bees:
- Think about when you use pesticide on your lawn. If you have seen bees or butterflies it might because you and your neighbors are using too much pesticide. Holding off on using these chemical
- Plant Flowers, mikweed, fruits, and vegetables.
- Corn that are gmo’s can affect the bees so even if you neighbors garden
- Healthy soil= healthy food = healthy humans
Without the pollinators in our world many of the foods on our salad would not be available. Check out this Whole Foods article
I loved learning about the how the pollinators and how they affect our food. Plus adding the rewards of bees honey to our food is so delicious.
Cheese and honey are amazing. 
Whole food offers local honey from bee keepers in your area. Some people take a teaspoon local honey everyday to help with there pollen allergies. I am loving this honey right now and my husband is taking the honey to help with his seasonal allergies.
I have to say one of my favorite things I tried was the Borsari which is $6.00 at my local whole foods. I love this spice it has pollinators in it, a little lavender, salt, and other spices. It is strong but a family favorite, I have been using on salads, meats, fish. I love it on a tomato sandwich.
Whole Food is offering many brands that help protect the bees purchase these during april and donation will be made to help protect the bees.
Cascadian Farms, Almond Breeze and Almond Butter have all pledge to helping save the bees.
I also leaned about the Rodale Institute located outside Allentown PA. that is a farm that is dedicated to creating practical farming practices to make the grown food health and sustainable. to lean more check out the Organic Manifesto.
There is so much to learn about bees and the affect on the food we eat.

Seeing his past lives love through their eyes of a slave and dock worker Nick learns what he has missed in his own current life as Nick. That is where the story gets good.
The author Carson Gage has been interested in the mysteries of life and death since the age of seven, when he survived being run over by a speeding car. This experience led him on a journey of discovery for answers to some of life’s biggest questions.
I have to say I had a hard time at first getting in this book, my physical surroundings were the problem. This is not a book you can read why watching your daughters volleyball practice, or in a room with other people. Because the Soul Sessions has nuances that take time to build the story, you need the quiet place to think and relate to the book. Once I sat down, snuggled in my bed with a cup of tea and kids quieted down. I loved it! It makes you look at your own life and makes you questions those connections of soul mates. There were times it moved me to tears and the goosebumps down my whole body. So I would say yes, read it.
This is a book to add to your kindle list.

The Dovekeepers
I was fortune to receive an advance screening copy of “The Dovekeepers” which airs March 31 and April 1 (9:00pm ET/PT) on CBS. The movie staring Cote de Pablo, Rachel Brosnahan, Kathryn Prescott, Diego Boneta and Sam Neill Star was really worth watching, because it recounts the tale of strong women defying the odds to tell their story was very insightful.
Based on Alice Hoffman’s Bestselling Historical Novel About a Group of Extraordinary Women Whose Lives Intersect In a Fight for Survival at the Siege of Masada in 70 C.E. THE DOVEKEEPERS, a four-hour limited event series from executive producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, will be broadcast Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1, 2015 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).
The project stars Cote de Pablo, Rachel Brosnahan and Kathryn Prescott in the title dovekeeper roles, Sam Neill as first-century Jewish scholar and historian Josephus, and Diego Boneta as a star warrior of the Jewish army at Masada. The series is based on Alice Hoffman’s bestselling, critically acclaimed historical novel about a group of extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada.
Set in ancient Israel, THE DOVEKEEPERS is based on the true events at Masada in 70 C.E. After being forced out of their home in Jerusalem by the Romans, 900 Jews were ensconced in a fortress at Masada, a mountain in the Judean desert. Besieged at Masada, the Jews held out for months against the vast Roman armies. The project will recount the events from the perspective of a few extraordinary women who arrive at Masada with unique backstories, but a common bond for survival. Additionally, these women, who work together daily as dovekeepers, are all concealing substantial secrets.
Hoffman’s novel was published in 2011 by Scribner, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, earning the New York Times’ bestseller status and widespread critical acclaim, including being hailed by Nobel laureate Toni Morrison as “a major contribution to 21st century literature.”
THE DOVEKEEPERS will be brought to television from executive producers Roma Downey and multiple Emmy Award winner Mark Burnett (SURVIVOR, “The Voice”), the production team behind the Emmy-nominated 10-hour miniseries “The Bible,” which scored big ratings for the History Channel in March 2013, and the feature “Son of God.”
Frank Siracusa, John Weber and Yves Simoneau also serve as executive producers, with Simoneau directing. Ann Peacock adapted the novel for the screen. THE DOVEKEEPERS is the first project from CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Studios’ Limited Series and Event Programming unit. It is a co-production between CBS Television Studios and LightWorkers Media, a division of United Artists Media Group.

Annie in Philadelphia: When I was 8years old the musical Annie premiered on Broadway. My parents got me the record of Andrea McCardel belting out lungs tomorrow tomorrow I love ya tomorrow. My friend and I would sing it is a hard knock life over and over again. My sister would sing maybe far away … Then the day came My grandmother took my mom, sister, and me to see the live performance.
