Internet Goes Black

Do you want a limited view of the world?

Today you might have noticed the internet went black and so will many other sites. The reason is Sopa and Pipa laws that are up for a vote in the US  if passed will end the internet as we know it. They are laws suppose to help protect copywrite but they are reckless and need to be rewritten not just a blanket fix.  I urge you to read more.  Then call your Sentor and tell him you are opposed to censorship on the internet.

I know  you think how does it effect you but it does.. sites will be taken down for sharing content.

You may ask why have I not heard about this.  many of the large media companys suport this bill,  because it helps them.  Think about free sharing has killed the newspaper bussiness .. whay is next ..the news. Twitter broke the BinLaden killing.

Here is where you can go and get your US Sentors phone number.. Call it takes 1 minute to protect your rights.

Gift Exchange Idea

So I have a Christmas party at my house every year for my husbands family. & years ago when we started we would try to think onf theme. One year is was entertainment.  The problem was we would have an issue with not every one like the same thing. So we  a few years back I decided to come up with an idea that people  can buy a gift that fits all year.   We choose based on the letter of the Alphabet, we started with “A”  then every year is a different letter..

  • We set a Limit of $15, gift must begin with letter of the year.  (D-dish, D-Dog treats, D-dinners card)
  • Every adult  brings the wrap gift  unmarked
  • We all get a number and pick in order of number
  • Gift are opened as they  picked so everyone can see
  • Anybody with a later number can steal the gift from an earlier person or pick a new gift from the pile (that is where the fun begins)
  • we do one more swap at the end for people who don’t like there gift to re-exchange

So this year  we are to the  letter “E” .

Gift Ideas For E

Every Year it is the one think that we all look forward to who is going to hide there gift under there chair so as not to have it scavenged by someone with a better number.   The teenagers old take from there great uncles and vice versa.  it is a;sp a great idea for office partys. For the little kids each parent brings a book for there kid to open.   One year my son cried so I could get the gift off another person.

What ideas do you go for Christmas Holiday exchanges ?

Alpha Buyer The Power of Group Buying

So this past week my friend invited me to lunch to learn about Alpha Buyer.  Lately, I have been juggling alot with the family, sports, my business, and blogging.   I have been feeling the superexhausted by the amount of thinking I have to do for other people.   I am in charge of all the bill paying for my household and  like most moms many of the purchasing decisions are made by me.  In fact, US moms make 80% of the purchasing decisions in the United States.

So what is Alpha buyer? They are group buying for your utilities. Services that you are buying regardless like electric, gas and oil.  Giving you the power of a large group buying= savings.  Alpha Buyer does the research, the negotiation, then you piggy back on their knowledge and deal, for free.

Alpha buyer is also unique because it has a user friendly platform and the amount of  wonderful services included  in there programs/deals.  The deals are made with savings in mind, if the utility company drops the price, after your deal is made,  under the contract,  they will allow one price adjustment to the new lower price.(in most cases)  So Alpha Buyers got your back covered.

Alpha Buyer also keeps track of your deals, make sure you are aware of the when they are expiring.  Alpha Buyer language is simplified into something a real person can understand.  I do not have the time to digest all the fine detail of my utilities contracts, really who does?  So Alpha Buyer does it for me, telling me where I can save using their services.

Here are some other benefits to using Alpha Buyer:

  • Bills still come through the utility companies.
  • Sign up for the deals during a 2 week period 1st and 15th, deal might also be extended.  So no crazy daily emails
  • Free Service no cost to you (alpha buyer makes their money from utilities because they want a large group sign up , easier in bulk)
  • Cost Tracking software included for free alpha buyer service.
  • Alpha buyer personnel know and understand utilities- getting you the best deal for your bills.
  • Price adjustments may be included in the deal
  • refer a friend and get $20
  • Alpha Buyer Buying Service is only currently offered in PA and NJ
  • Saving you money- pennies add up fast..and it is free

The idea is to save, and the buying power of many gives you that option. I can’t wait to see what other areas Alpha Buyer will expand into and make simple in my life.  According to the luncheon: Cable, Internet, Phone, and Cell Phone are all in Alpha Buyers sights for group buying savings in the future.

I can’t tell you if Alpha Buyer is right for your family but, I am looking into it for mine.  Too check out more information about Alpha Buyer and see if it is right for your family.

Moneyball staring Brad Pitt Movie Review

Picture From ImDb and Sony Pictures

This week I went to see a screening of MoneyBall starting Brad Pitt.  I wanted this to be the movie where I understood the hype behind Brad Pitt.  Why everyone goes gaga over him.  It was not.  I don’t think Pitt is a bad actor,  I think he is a great actor but he is not my type.  That being said.

The Money ball was a good movie 3 ½ stars.  It was based loosely on baseball’s Okland A’s  and there 2002-2003 season.  The story was an MLB team and how on a little budget then rose to success.  Brad Pitt was very good in the role playing fast talking quick witted  Billy Bean the A’ player  turned general manger.  Pits performance was what you would expect from a well written baseball movie.  It was not a role that stretched Brad Pitt as an actor there was parts we he got use his sarcastic humor which he was very entertaining .

I thought  Jonah Miller  was excellent as Peter Brant the brain child behind the players picked for the A’s .   I found Jonah to be a fun character not fitting in to the world but making it work.  He was the perfect fit for the role.   Miller and Pitt had excellent  guy chemistry.

I thought Moneyball was a good movie.  I would spend the $11 for a ticket plus the cost of a sitter on a date night.  Because it does appeal  with the baseball  aspect and the relationship between characters.  I will tell you I have seen this story before  not the exact story but similar, played by a different actor with a name that sounds like Nevin OddStir.

It is an underdog story and who does not love an good underdog story?

Disclosure:  I did receive the tickets for this screening for free, the opinions in this post are my own.
