Philadelphia Flower Show #wordlesswednesday

Last week I told you about the Philadelphia Flower Show.  This afternoon, My daughter played hookie from school (1st grade) and we went to the flower show.  I thought it would be a great way to expose her to the beauty, smells, and learn about plants,  so an educational day.  Please be sure  to read the end of the post to see what I purchased at the show.  I think next time I would love to make a night of it with VisitPhilly.com they have a all sorts of great packages and discounts for overnight stays in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.

Here are some of the pictures I took at the show, for more picture I took of the day please check out my Flickr Philadelphia Flower show page.

The wave entrance was really cool my daughter loved seeing the sea life on the screens.

I thought the orchids were so beautiful and they were every where:

I loved the massive entrance water fall and Hawaiian mountain

The Miniatures and the pressed flower pictures were amazing!

Check out this window display- wow just wow

I think these were my favorites- I am a sucker for color:I also got a great picture of my girl!I have to share while I was at the Flower show I bought this lovely “Pooley” bud vase:bud vase

  1. Beautiful pictures! Such a great way to spend time with your daughter!

I love the vase, too. It’s perfect for those too short flowers that kids always love to pick, and I feel bad tossing even though I can’t do anything with them.

  2. Love the pictures! I’m in the midst of piecing together what flowers to plant this year. Hopefully lots of sunflowers and zinnias will be popping up.

  3. Love the flower show. Will be stopping by myself! Glad you enjoyed it and love your purchase! Also…great pics! Love the protea in your first shot and also the miniatures!

  4. Lovely pictures! We went to the flower show on Sunday. There is so much to see and it is nice to see what others saw, since I know I did not see it all! Great way to spend a day and get in the mood for Spring.

  5. Those flowers are beautiful- Orchids and Tulips are my favorites. I’ll be checking out that site because I need to do serious planting this year since last year I did natta. Beautiful pics Sher!
